The Landscape Institute has 12 branches across the UK providing membership services, events and support to members in each area. The North West branch, with approximately 600 Landscape Institute members living or working in the region, represents one of the larger branches of the Institute both in terms of membership and land area.
The North West is the UK’s largest regional economy, with a population of some 7 million people. It is a diverse and vibrant region which includes the counties of Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside. The furthermost part of our region on its westerly edge is the Isle of Man, some 30 miles off St. Bees Head in Cumbria. 29% of the region is designated as either National Park or areas of AONBs.
